Did I tell you that I like to prowl down alleys? No, I’m not a cat burglar, but as a gardener, I think backyards are often more interesting than front yards! So I was out and about today with my camera and here’s some of what I found.
A coreopsis variety–‘Redshift’?
Love the purple coneflower growing with the tomato vines.
Elderflower berries forming.
Just love this birdhouse–looks great even when the clematis is no longer in flower.
A persicaria–“Painter’s Palette’?
Squash vine furtively attempting to escape garden.
Zinnias, marigolds, and tomatoes-a mini cottage garden.
Rose of Sharon flowers, complete with Japanese beetles.
The herb borage.
A young moonflower vine with a bud.
Back entrance into a lovely garden.
A rhubarb patch under an old apple tree.
Would never have thought to grow marigolds and impatiens together!
Not 100% sure, but I think this is Purple Love Grass (Eragrostis spectabilis). Whatever it is, it’s beautiful!
Pretty purple coneflower.
Phlox growing by a garage.
